Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations. This has never been more true as I'm sitting on my bed at 5am trying to figure out how to string letters together to form my review of this book. It's ever so hard to review a book that has been read by so many people, received so much praise and basically has it's own crazy following because I feel like everything that is going to be in this review has somehow been said more eloquently in some other review already. But well, I have this urge to do it anyway. As you can tell from the five star review that I adored this book. I loved all 26 letters of the alphabet that was strung together by the genius who is John Green. When we are dealing with such a sombre topic as cancer, it seems pretty formulaic to write a romance and have people bawl their eyes out just by default. But The Fault in our Stars never once felt that way to me. Yes, Hazel and Gus are totally wise beyond their years but they never felt pretentious to me. From the moment they met and had their very first conversation, I fell in love with them and their ability to find humour in their own illness. The plot was honestly nothing to rave about but the characters, and I don't just mean Hazel and Gus although they are the main reason, made this book and this story. I was so emotionally invested and I felt things that I can't possibly describe in words and that is the reason why I'm giving this a 5 star rating.Oh right, that and the beautiful writing (sometimes so beautiful that you don't really know what it means but you love how the sound of the words just roll off the tip of your tongue anyway). The reductive take away from this review? I'm a romantic sap and I need a life. But in the meantime, let me continue on the great search for more 5 star reads like Fault and swooning over fictional characters. PS. My favourite quote in the book."As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep; slowly, and then all at once."PPS. Also, this song.

On The Fence

On The Fence - Kasie West After reading [b:The Distance Between Us|15283043|The Distance Between Us|Kasie West|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1358144875s/15283043.jpg|20938637] and the synopsis for this new contemp novel, my emotions can be summed up with one gif. Yeah. I'm excited.
Untitled - Tammara Webber I was hoping and praying for an entirely new book, so...But what the hell, it's Tammara Webber I love her.

Gone Girl

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn 2.5 starsWow, that took long, but I'm finally done!

Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires Series #1)

Glass Houses - Rachel Caine To read or not to read...

#scandal

#scandal - Sarah Ockler Eep, this book sounds adorable and fun. Something I actually need now!Plus a hashtag title, hee.

Aristeia (Goddess War, #2)

Aristeia (Goddess War, #2) - Kendare Blake Antigoddess, Aristeia, FatalisteThe names of the books in this series!

The Distance Between Us

The Distance Between Us - Kasie West It's been so damn long since I've read a simple contemporary romance YA novel and this is absolutely the book to hit that empty spot. Caymen's sarcasm is pure gold and Xander oozes with charm, I couldn't stop smiling to myself while reading this so if you are planning to read this in public, prepare yourself, for others might think you are weird.

The Cuckoo's Calling

The Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith So like everyone else, I just found out that this was written and published in April by none other than Ms Rowling herself, under a pseudonym of course.Genius.
Untitled - Cynthia Hand NEW BOOK (series?) FROM CYNTHIA HAND.
A Very Hexy Valentine's Day - Rachel Hawkins How did I not know of this little short outtake's existence? Anyhow, very short but full of cuteness. I am rather fond of this couple.

Anne of Green Gables (Signet Classics)

Anne of Green Gables - L.M. Montgomery, Jennifer Lee Carrell "We are going to be the best of friends," said Gilbert, jubilantly. "We were born to be good friends, Anne. You've thwarted destiny enough. I know we can help each other in many ways."(;

How to Lead a Life of Crime

How to Lead a Life of Crime - Kirsten Miller 4.5 starsThis book was truly an unexpectedly enjoyable read.Review to come.

Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, Book 4)

Blood Promise - Richelle Mead Speechless. That's me right now.I don't know if I would ever have the words to write a proper or even semi proper review for this book but just, wow.Yep, consider my mind blown and all my emotions zapped out of my poor little brain and heart, or wherever it is emotions come from. I can't even think straight now.Would anyone like to hold me and sing soft kitty?

Shadow Kiss: 3 (Vampire Academy)

Shadow Kiss - Richelle Mead If [b:Frostbite|2282133|Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2)|Richelle Mead|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361098960s/2282133.jpg|6651004] made me like the series then [b:Shadow Kiss|2802316|Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)|Richelle Mead|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361099049s/2802316.jpg|6651006] sealed the love I have for this series and Rose/Dimitri.I was pretty sure that I was having multiple heart attacks during the last 5%-10% of the book. Oh, Richelle Mead, the cruel things you do to my poor little heart. When reading both [b:Vampire Academy|345627|Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)|Richelle Mead|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361098973s/345627.jpg|335933] and [b:Frostbite|2282133|Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2)|Richelle Mead|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361098960s/2282133.jpg|6651004], I've liked Rose and Dimitri's relationship and always thought that they were a cute couple. I have no idea what was so different in this book that made me go totally gaga for the both of them. I've read my share of swoon worthy relationships and guys whom I'll willing give up my first born for but after [b:Shadow Kiss|2802316|Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)|Richelle Mead|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361099049s/2802316.jpg|6651006], Dimitri and Rose are right at the top of my list of fictional couples I'll ship till the day I die. It's not even because they are both awesome, kickass characters but on top of that, they fight for what they love with such amazing passion (yes, this might sound cheesy but it's TRUE). I could gush about them for the longest time but I guess now would be the time to stop before I start sounding incoherent. Basically, I'm bowing down to Ms Mead for creating a fictional couple that seems to good to be true. I'm officially certain that no guy can compare to Dimitri.Shadow Kiss was truly wonderful and THE ENDING which I did not see coming at all, has me grateful that this series is now completed because I honestly don't know what I would do if I had to wait a year.
